Cherry Rock is proud to announce a management deal for the amazingly talented artist, Dean Jones.
Dean Jones is an artist, poet, musician, athlete, role model and all round nice guy! His latest collection 'It comes in 3's' was exhibited at the Espy Hotel, St Kilda complete with live band, dark lighting, spoken word, poetry and fitting atmosphere. His work and exhibitions are something you won't have seen before and are completely memorable. You won't find his work at a gallery, you'll find it in a place that best complements it. CherryRock010 Festival!
CherryRock010 on Sunday 2 May was the 4th annual Cherry Bar AC/DC Lane music celebration event, representing Australia's only dedicated 100% rock n roll festival.
This year we had 25 bands, 24 from Melbourne, across three stages in a unique celebration of local street rock n' roll literally in the streets of Melbourne.
Rock legends Rose Tattoo headlined with an incredible support cast that included Ash Grunwald and Kram (playing together for the first time), Dan Sultan, Beaches, The Fearless Vampire Killers, The Gun Street Girls, Matt Sonic and the High Times, Money For Rope, The Once Overs, Bittersweet Kicks, Eagle & The Worm, Barbarion and more.
650 lucky punters bathed in an orgy of relentless rock. Our biggest bill, our best line-up, our lowest ticket price. It was an unbelievable success story for Melbourne and asserted its rightful place as the true rock n roll capital of Australia, if not the world...

AC/DC Lane Artwork Celebration!
With AC/DC in Australia for the 'Black Ice' Tour, their first in nine long years, we knew that fans from all over the world would be coming to AC/DC Lane to take pictures. But we didn't want these people to leave with nothing but a digital pic of a street sign, so Cherry co-owner James Young and local musician (guitarist in Mammoth Mammoth) and artist Ben Couzens hatched a plan to bring AC/DC to life in AC/DC Lane.
In addition to the rockin' sounds emanating from the Cherry Bar, the greatest hard rock act of all time, Melbourne's own AC/DC, were given life through a temporary street poster Art Installation that told the story of the band from '73 to the present day, starting at the bottom of the Lane and climaxing under the main AC/DC Lane sign with a 'Highway To Hell' inspired feature poster including all members (past and present) of the famous band. The rock posters are back and white, but Ben painstakingly added red and yellow paint to give fire and bite to the tremendous tribute.
People have loved the effort with media around the world, including USA Today, covering the story. And Malcolm Young's wife Linda, daughter Cara, sister Margaret and nephew Sam all came to pay their respects. Let There Be AC/DC!

Gold Coast Media Award Winners!
For the 2nd year running, Absee Media, in partnership with Cherry Rock have taken out the 'Gold Coast Media Award' for 'Best Advertising Creative under $5000'! (You can watch the video here)
Absee Media wrote, shot and created a short film based around a very historic legend familiar to all Queenslanders, to cleverly promote themselves as a leader in innovative thinking in the Outdoor Advertising space.
Cherry Rock jumped on board and was more than happy to help with the poster and DVD design for the project (which can be viewed below), as well as creating an 8ft tall cardboard cutout for the project.

Cherry Rock previously helped out Absee Media in creating and designing a CD and its connective musical content, the packaging and lyrics booklet based on a 'propoganda theme'. The design was a hit! Generating the first award in this category as well as much buzz around the agencies of the Gold Coast and beyond.

Cherry Rock has been instructed by the Victorian Arts Centre to help launch it’s AC/DC Family Jewels Exhibition by creating a public event in the Arts Centre Forecourt on Friday 13 November from 6pm.

A free one-off concert featuring a never-to-be-repeated AC/DC Tribute band made up of a Who’s Who of the Australian rock n' roll music scene coming together to perform live and to LET THERE BE ROCK!
It’s a perfect assignment for Cherry Rock, as we use music to create a memorable and connective brand experience for The Arts Centre rather than simply using traditional advertising.
And in addition to the ACTIVATION aspect of this project Cherry Rock brings ANTCIPATION and PROPOGATION as Media and Public interest is established before during and after this unique launch event.

The Band consists of Members of 3 local bands. The Devilrock Four (Carl Treasure & Jamie Coghill), Bugdust (Jimi Richardson) and The Lightning Strikes (Jonny Driver). All powerful live rock bands with a passion for putting on a show. Combine that with the songs of AC/DC and you have a recipefor one rockin night out.
Paris Wells – Melbourne songstress continues to defy categorization. Made a guest appearance at the biggest paid concert in Australian history, Melbourne's Sound Relief. Myer used the track 'Grace Baby' for one of the year’s biggest advertising campaigns of 2009. Toured Australia and New Zealand supporting Justin Timberlake. Debut album ?Keep It? saw single ?Lonely? land at Number One in the Pop/Top 40 category in the 2008 International Song Writing Competition. Her second LP is currently being recorded.
Johnny Galvatron – Lead singer of inter-planetary rockers The Galvatrons who launched onto the Australian scene in 2007 and opened for The Police in their Hyde Park Concert. Debut LP ‘Laser Graffiti’ out now if you can catch its speeding tail…
Rusty - Lead singer of one of Melbourne’s most revered rock n roll acts, the blistering Electric Mary. A hard working hard rocking act whose recent sold out Hi Fi Bar shows insured there wasn’t a dry eye or armpit in the place!
Dave Larkin - Front man for OZ rockers 'Dallas Crane' and more recently 'Gun Street Girls' Dave is signed to AC/DC label Albert Productions and has collaborated with the likes of
Jimmy Barnes and more.
Ben Salter - Singer/Songwriter for Brisbane country rock outfit 'The Gin Club' and hard rockers 'Giants of Science'. Tim Rogers has sung on his records and Radio and Press alike have been all over his latest offering the double album 'Junk'. With High rotation and a wave of shining reviews.
Damien Campbell - Singer/Bass Player for Melbourne band 'The Casanovas'. Damo is signed to Rubber records and has toured the world with the band receiving much praise and reviews. With quotes like "The Casanovas are like JET on Viagra" you can imagine the kind of show he puts on.

Adam Cole - Singer/Guitarist for hard rock band 'Bugdust'. Adam (or 'Colesy' as nearly everyone in Melbourne knows him) has been rocking the Melbourne scene for years. "a very formidable looking guy with a voice that cuts through you like a laser"
Mick Simpson - Originally hailing from Wollongong, NSW the lead singer of rockers 'Rockafella' Mick now lives in Melbourne and rocks out with his new project 'Stompbox'.
